It is an honour and a privilege to be your President for the next two years. My professional career in education allowed me to interact with young people of all ages in rural and urban Saskatchewan. It was particularly rewarding working with special needs students as I witnessed and learned from their kindness, patience, and caring for each other. I have served my professional organization in many different capacities along with being an active Board member with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association, provincial and local Housing Authorities, YWCA, Prince Albert Parkland Health Region, and the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations. I acted as Returning Officer during provincial elections, Director of the Western Canada Summer Games, Mayor of the Village for the National Special Olympics, and Liaison Officer with Statistics Canada in the Census. I have just concluded a four year appointment to the Senate of the University of Regina.
